Cost Drill-Down

See every time log and material entry behind a project's actual costs.

The cost drill-down answers one question: what exactly is this project's actual cost made of?

Open a project and click Drill down. The page walks all the way from the project to individual entries:

  1. Project — the total labor and materials cost.
  2. Phases — including an Unallocated group for work orders without a phase.
  3. Work orders — each with its code, title, status, and its own labor/materials totals.
  4. The entries themselves:
    • Time logs — date, worker, category (productive or travel), hours, hourly rate, and amount.
    • Material usage — date, part, quantity, unit cost, and amount.

Every entry also carries the note its author left, so a line like 6.00 h @ 40.00 can be traced back to "Pump bearing replacement".

Who can see it

The same roles with financial visibility on the project: admin, ops director, branch manager, project manager, and site supervisor.

Why it matters

Because every amount in every report is built from these entries — nothing else — the drill-down is the place to settle questions like:

  • Why did labor spike this week?
  • Which work order consumed the copper pipe?
  • Who logged the travel time?

The numbers reconcile exactly: a project's actual cost equals the sum of its phases' costs, which equals the sum of its work orders' entries.
