Introduction
What GoCrew is, who it is for, and how the pieces fit together.
GoCrew is an operations and cost control platform for contracting, construction, and maintenance companies. It brings your projects, field work, budgets, and team into one place so you always know what work is happening — and what it is costing you.
What GoCrew does
GoCrew is organized around a few core ideas:
- Organizations — your company's workspace. Everything you see in GoCrew belongs to your organization; nobody else can see it.
- Projects — the jobs you run, each with a budget baseline and optional phases.
- Work Orders — field tasks created for a specific project. Your crews log time and materials against them, and those entries flow straight into the project's actual costs.
- Budgets — planned spending per category (labor, materials, subcontractor, overhead). GoCrew compares the budget to actual costs as work happens and warns your project managers before costs get out of hand.
- Team — the people in your organization, each with a role that decides what they can see and do.
Who uses GoCrew
A typical setup looks like this:
- An admin sets up the organization, branches, sites, and the parts catalog, then invites the rest of the team.
- Project managers create projects with budgets and phases, and create work orders for the field.
- Site supervisors review completed work and close it out.
- Technicians see the work orders assigned to them, log their time, and record the materials they use.
Every one of these roles sees a different slice of GoCrew — the Roles & Permissions page explains exactly what each role can do.
