Parts
The materials catalog used to price material usage on work orders.
The parts catalog is the list of materials your crews can record on work orders. Every entry in it carries the pricing that turns "42 ft of pipe" into a materials cost.
What a part has
| Field | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Name | What crews see in the picker, e.g. "Copper Pipe 3/4"" |
| SKU | A unique stock code within your organization |
| Unit of measure | How it's counted — ft, ea, kg |
| Standard cost | The price per unit used to cost material usage |
Updating a part's standard cost
- Open Setup → Parts.
- Find the part and click Edit cost.
- Enter the new standard cost and save.
Who can edit costs: admins and ops directors. Everyone else can browse the catalog.
New cost applies to new usage only
Updating a part's standard cost never rewrites history. Usage already recorded keeps its original price; the new cost applies from the next entry onward.
Building your catalog
Parts must exist in the catalog before crews can record them on work orders. There is no in-app part creation yet — contact GoCrew support to have parts added to your catalog, and make sure each part's unit and standard cost are right, since they drive all materials costing.
