Getting Started
A Quick Tour
How the GoCrew workspace is organized — navigation, dashboard, and key screens.
After signing in you land in the workspace. Here is how it is organized.
The navigation
The sidebar has three groups:
| Group | Pages | What lives here |
|---|---|---|
| Work | Dashboard, Projects, Work Orders, Cost Summary | The day-to-day: field work and its costs |
| Setup | Branches, Sites, Clients, Parts | The reference data everything else builds on |
| Administration | Audit Log, Billing, Team | Organization management |
Which pages appear depends on your role — for example, only admins see Billing and Team. The full picture is in Roles & Permissions.
A bell icon at the top shows your unread notifications. Your name at the bottom opens the user menu with Sign out.
The dashboard
The dashboard gives you the position of the organization at a glance:
- Stat cards — Active projects, Open work orders, Over-budget projects, and your Unread alerts. Each card takes you to the relevant page.
- Over budget — the projects consuming the largest share of their budget, with Budget, Actual, and % Used.
- Projects — your most recent projects, with a link to view all.
- First-run checklist — until you have branches and sites, the dashboard shows a "Set up your organization" checklist with shortcuts to do exactly that.
The typical rhythm of work
- Set up once: branches, sites, clients, and the parts catalog (Setup group).
- Plan: a project manager creates a project with a budget baseline and phases, then creates work orders and assigns them.
- Do the work: technicians log time and record materials on their assigned work orders.
- Close out: a site supervisor reviews the completed work and accepts it, closing the work order.
- Watch the money: budgets versus actuals update live — on the project page, in the cost summary, and in the drill-down that shows every individual time log and material entry behind the numbers.
Screenshots will be added to these pages as the product's visual guide grows.
